New for 2025! The Friends have recently purchased a shiny new glasswasher for the theatre bar after the previous washer went into unexpected retirement! It's an essential piece of kit to keep the bar running smoothly so a massive thanks to all of the Friends for helping to keep the theatre audiences refreshed and hydrated!
You may have noticed that the Strode Theatre website has had a complete overhaul and is now a brilliant, more user-friendly platform for showcasing the varied programme here at Strode.
A huge thank you to all of the Friends for making this possible! Your contributions make a massive difference to the theatre.
It's always a pleasure to have very young audience members here at the theatre, and it's important that they can see clearly! A big thank you to the Friends for supporting the purchase of more booster seats. Very popular during panto season!

This year our festive event included performances from our local community groups.

Which saw over 50 children perform and over 200 patrons in the auditorium.
When you visit the theatre next you might notice the bar and foyer areas beautifully and colourfully lit, thanks to these new uplighters purchased for the theatre by the Friends. They make the front of house areas appealing and vibrant. A big thank you to the Friends!
MERRIMAN PARK FUNDAY
Daisy and the trustees attended Merriman Park on Saturday 7th September, to express the importance of our charity and what we do to support Strode Theatre.
It was great to see so many of our community supporting Strode Theatre.
Professional Mamma Mia Workshops
Our workshops saw over 10 new families through the theatre doors. We saw children from Taunton, Yeovil and our surrounding villages attend.
Thank you to our fabulous guest, for helping us raise over £500 for the charity.
March Quiz 2024
Another successful quiz, which was organised by our fabulous quiz team. The quiz raised over £400 and the theatre saw over £500 taken on the bar.

New for 2024! We are delighted to unveil our new reusable cups, purchased by the Friends of Strode Theatre for use in the theatre bar. As our audiences are not able to take glass cups into the theatre or studio, these reusable cups will save the theatre a huge amount in single-use plastic cups and are much better for the environment. They have already proved a popular addition with audiences!

We’ve had a busy start to 2024.
This month we’ve bought a MacBook Pro (Laptop), New bar fridge and a Digital Sound Desk for the Studio.

CHRISTMAS SUPER SUNDAY
Another very success event organised by Daisy and Lorna, bringing a tremendous amount into The Friends Of Strode Theatre pot.
We saw over 50 children meet Santa. Last year we had 21 children enter the grotto. Huge success this year!
There was 20 stalls in the bar and studio, ranging from sweet treats to jewellery. It was great to see so many local businesses supporting each other and the theatre.
We can't forget the local fire service popping along to see us too. The kids loved this! Even Patty the Panto Dame had a photo.
Thank you again for all those who attended this Christmas event.

Monday night was full of positivity. I think we can all agree it was a great evening.
Over 60 of our current members attended Monday nights event. The trustees and myself got to share last years successes, targets for 2024 and our exciting plans for this year. I believe every single person saw how passionate we are about this amazing theatre.
Lucy Burton - Technical & Operations Manager at Strode Theatre, kindly spoke to our members and thanked them for thier continuous support. Lucy also shared the latest updates on the current theatre situation, and as stated previously it was ALL very positive. The Theatre is even booking into Mid 2025, with requests for 2026. This is fantastic news.
